Outdoor activities

We have an exciting outdoor play area consisting of both a grassed area for sorts of sporting activities, for teddy bears picnic and group story times in the summer and an area for bikes, hoops, skipping, bats & balls and letting off steam! In addition to all the activities going on inside the nursery, we also like to take the children outdoors to follow the nature trial – picking flowers and collecting leaves for our nature table, we take part in gardening and helping to maintain our vegetables we have grown and also help with looking after the flowers, we have grown and raised our own butterflies from tiny caterpillars and have set them free in our garden.

Communication

We actively encourage continual communication between parents and the Pre-school to ensure that the time your child spends at the Pre-school is as happy as possible. We keep parents up to date with what is happening through our Babys Days system, newsletters, open days and parent’s evenings. We are always open to suggestions and re-evaluating our Outstanding practise and thrive on including parents in our Success so any thoughts or ideas are very much welcomed into our Pre-school.

Parking

There is parking at the Pre-school to ensure the safe drop off and collection of your child. This is located in front of the community centre.

Clothing

Children should wear comfortable clothing to Pre-school, please be aware that we do participate in messy activities and although children do always wear the aprons which we provide, their clothes may become wet or dirty. Spare clothes are very useful as children are often changed during the course of a day through messy play or toileting accidents. We do provide pegs and trays for your child to store their belongings. It is helpful if clothes are labelled as often children have identical items of clothing.

Security

Any person visiting the Pre-school will have their identity checked if they are not a recognised person. Only persons named on the registration form are able to collect the child unless we are notified beforehand in writing, giving us security details.
